Hi Green Team:
The purpose of this topic is to provide an open forum to allow users of Fair-Rite’s products to share information, opinions, and experiences about the various green energy technologies as applies to Fair-Rite and ferrite products. Green Energy is becoming a new and exciting field of technology for Fair-Rite. Specific areas of green energy include: solar, wind, geo-thermal, wireless power, energy harvesting and other yet to be discovered possibilities. Generally, it represents alternate forms of power generation, transmission and conversion. As with many electronic systems, there is a need for magnetics; where ferrites can be applied as transformers, sensors, and in various forms for the purposes of suppression and shielding.
Hello,
A local ham is preparing to install a set of solar panels with “micro” inverters, and plans to use Mix 31 cable suppression beads for EMI/RFI mitigation. My question is: Is there a quick “close enough” way to determine what effect a given DC current will have on the bead performance? Any pointers to hosted material you may have will be appreciated.
Thanks!
